Scripts you can choose from to read over Spring Break:
Nursing by Adam Rapp
This is a realistic play that has a Sci-Fi bent. It imagines a world where illness has been eradicated and only exists in a museum. Dark and twisty.
Vigils by Noah Haidle
This is whimsical comedy of sorts about a woman who keeps the soul of her husband in a box. Beautiful, funny, and a touch sad.
Water By The Spoonful by Quiara AlegrÃa Hudes
A slick play about a group if recovering addicts using on-line message boards and chats to support each other. Both funny and poignant.
Really by Jackie Sibblies Drury
A girlfriend sits the mother of her recently deceased boyfriend down to shoot a portrait. Lovely and moving with a dash of comedy.
This will be updated during Spring Break when the University and the Theater Department share more information with us. Assignments WILL change.
Be prepared to have your final scene recorded for the Last Day of Class.
Be prepared to watch online performances.
Be prepared to have a short online Final Exam about your work in the semester. This is a big change I want you to notate. We will not be performing on our Final Exam Day. It will be an online Exam - think short essay questions. Nothing crazy.
Try not to be alarmed; no one is trying to make the course more difficult than it was before. We are all just trying to make sure that you gain the most valuable education possible for the course.
You will still write Journal Entries. Currently, you are slated to write 6 pages (over 3 entries.)
You will still write 6 pages this semester, but it will be broken up a little differently.
